During World War Two, Aryan-looking Jew Linda (Melanie Griffith) gets a job in the American War Department, thanks to her fluent German. Her boss (Michael Douglas) is a top lawyer and secret agent. She begins an affair with him, and when his contact inside Nazi Germany is killed, Linda persuades him to let her be the replacement.
